鞏義市巨豐磨料拋光廠碳化硅(SiC)俗稱金剛砂,碳化硅是用石英砂、石焦油(或煤焦)、木屑等原料在電阻內經高溫冶煉而成,燒得的碳化硅塊,經破碎、酸堿洗、磁選和篩分制成各種粒度的產品。純碳化硅是無色透明的晶體,工業(yè)碳化硅因所含雜質的種類和含量不同而呈黃、綠、藍乃至黑色,透明度隨其純度不同而異。
目前工業(yè)生產的碳化硅分為黑碳化硅和綠碳化硅兩種,均為六方晶體,綠碳化硅和黑碳化硅基本一樣,只是原料和制造工藝有所產別,產品呈綠色半透明體,硬度、純度都優(yōu)于黑碳化硅。
黑碳化硅的特點:大爐冶煉,冶煉時間長,結晶充分,結晶顆粒大,純度高,雜質少,強度高,耐用性良好,經過酸洗、水洗,清潔度好,經過特殊處理的高純度產品,強度更高,磨削能力更強。
綠碳化硅適用于消磨銅、鋁、寶石、光學玻璃、陶瓷等硬合金、金屬及硬而脆的非金屬材料;微粉還可以用作陶瓷材料。
綠碳化硅和黑碳化硅基本一樣,只是原料和制造工藝有所差別,產品呈綠色半透明體,硬度、純度優(yōu)于黑碳化硅。綠碳化硅適用于磨削銅、黃銅、鋁、寶石、光學玻璃、陶瓷等硬合金、金屬及硬而脆的非金屬材料。其微粉還可用作陶瓷材料。由于黑碳化硅的純度高,還廣泛用于耐火材料和各種磨具制造。

1、磨料切割工具:由于碳化硅的耐用性和低成本,在現代寶石加工中作為常用磨料使用。碳化硅憑借其硬度使它在制造業(yè)中諸如砂輪切割、搪磨、水刀切割和噴砂等磨削加工過程中,將碳化硅粒子層壓在紙上就能制成砂紙和滑板的握帶。還可用于用于制作砂輪、砂紙、砂帶、油石、磨塊、磨頭、研磨膏等。
2、結構材料:碳化硅材料可用于制造復合裝甲(比如喬巴姆裝甲)和防彈背心中的陶瓷板。
3、天文學:碳化硅具備的低熱膨脹系數、高的硬度、剛性和熱導率使其能夠作為天文望遠鏡的鏡面材料。通過化學氣相沉積制造的直徑達3.5米和2.7米的多晶碳化硅圓盤已被分別安裝在赫歇爾空間天文臺和同溫層紅外線天文臺等幾個大型天文望遠鏡上。
4、催化劑載體:碳化硅本身的抗氧化性質和立方β-SiC所具有的大比表面積使其可作為非均相催化劑的載體。通過稻殼炭化合成的β-SiC已被用于作為非均相催化劑的載體應用于催化諸如正丁烷氧化生成順丁烯二酸酐這類烴類的氧化反應。
5、磨料磨具:主要用于制作砂輪、砂紙、砂帶、油石、磨塊、磨頭、研磨膏及光伏產品中單晶硅、多晶硅和電子行業(yè)的壓電晶體等方面的研磨、拋光等。
6、化工:可用做煉鋼的脫氧劑和鑄鐵組織的改良劑,可用做制造四氯化硅的原料,是硅樹脂工業(yè)的主要原料。碳化硅脫氧劑是一種新型的強復合脫氧劑,取代了傳統的硅粉碳粉進行脫氧,和原工藝相比各項理化性能更加穩(wěn)定,脫氧效果好,使脫氧時間縮短,節(jié)約能源,提高煉鋼效率,提高鋼的質量,降低原輔材料消耗,減少環(huán)境污染,改善勞動條件,提高電爐的綜合經濟效益都具有重要價值。
7、節(jié)能:利用良好的導熱和熱穩(wěn)定性,作熱交換器,燃耗減少20%,節(jié)約燃料35%,使生產率提高20-30%,特別是礦山選廠用排放輸送管道的內放,其耐磨程度是普通耐磨材料的6--7倍。
8、耐材:利用碳化硅具有耐腐蝕、耐高溫、強度大、導熱性能良好、抗沖擊等特性,碳化硅一方面可用于各種冶煉爐襯、高溫爐窯構件、碳化硅板、襯板、支撐件、匣缽、碳化硅坩堝等。另一方面可用于有色金屬冶煉工業(yè)的高溫間接加熱材料,如豎罐蒸餾爐、精餾爐塔盤、鋁電解槽、銅熔化爐內襯、鋅粉爐用弧型板、熱電偶保護管等;用于制作耐磨、耐蝕、耐高溫等高級碳化硅陶瓷材料。
