棕剛玉是以鋁礬土、焦碳（無(wú)煙煤）為主要原料，在電弧中經(jīng)2000度以上高溫熔煉制成，經(jīng)自磨機(jī)粉碎 、整形，磁選去鐵，篩分成多種粒度，其質(zhì)地致密、硬度高，粒形成球狀，適用于制造陶瓷、樹脂高固結(jié)磨具以及研磨、拋光、噴砂、精密鑄造等，還可用于制造高級(jí)耐火材料。
棕剛玉俗名又稱金剛砂，具有純度高，結(jié)晶好，流動(dòng)性強(qiáng)，線膨脹系數(shù)低，耐腐蝕的特點(diǎn)。該產(chǎn)品在應(yīng)用過(guò)程中具有不起爆、不粉化、不開(kāi)裂的特點(diǎn)，尤其是其遠(yuǎn)高于傳統(tǒng)棕剛玉的性價(jià)比，更使之成為棕剛玉質(zhì)耐火材料的最佳骨料和填充料。
