【簡介】
石英砂是一種堅硬、耐磨、化學(xué)性能穩(wěn)定的硅酸鹽礦物，其主要礦物成分是SiO2 ，石英砂的顏色為乳白色或無色半透明狀，硬度7，性脆無解理，貝殼狀斷口，油脂光澤，密度為2.65g/cm3，堆積密度1-20目為1.6g/cm3，20-200目為1.5g/cm3，其化學(xué)、熱學(xué)和機械性能具有明顯的異向性，不溶于酸，微溶于KOH溶液，熔點1750℃。廣泛用于玻璃、鑄造、陶瓷及耐火材料、冶煉硅鐵、冶金熔劑、冶金、建筑、化工、塑料、橡膠、磨料等工業(yè)。
【應(yīng)用】
作為濾料：
1.自來水廠過濾池；
2.污水廠過濾池；
3.發(fā)電廠化水系統(tǒng)；
4.機械過濾器；
5.離子交換器墊層。
作為磨料：
     1、玻璃：平板玻璃、浮法玻璃、玻璃制品（玻璃罐、玻璃瓶、玻璃管等）、光學(xué)玻璃、玻璃纖維、玻璃儀器、導(dǎo)電玻璃、玻璃布及防射線特種玻璃等的主要原料。
     2、陶瓷及耐火材料：瓷器的胚料和釉料，窯爐用高硅磚、普通硅磚以及碳化硅等的原料。
     3、冶金：硅金屬、硅鐵合金和硅鋁合金等的原料或添加劑、熔劑。
     4、建筑：混凝土、膠凝材料、筑路材料、人造大理石、水泥物理性能檢驗材料（即水泥標(biāo)準(zhǔn)砂）等。
     5、化工：硅化合物和水玻璃等的原料，硫酸塔的填充物，無定形二氧化硅微粉。
     6、機械：鑄造型砂的主要原料，研磨材料（噴砂、硬研磨紙、砂紙、砂布等）。
     7、電子：高純度金屬硅、通訊用光纖等。
     8、橡膠、塑料：填料（可提高耐磨性）。
     9、涂料：填料（可提高涂料的耐酸性）。
     10、航空、航天：其內(nèi)在分子鏈結(jié)構(gòu)、晶體形狀和晶格變化規(guī)律，使其具有的耐高溫、熱膨脹系數(shù)小、高度絕緣、耐腐蝕、壓電效應(yīng)、諧振效應(yīng)以及其獨特的光學(xué)特性。
