摩天輪是一種大型轉(zhuǎn)輪狀的機(jī)械建筑設(shè)施，上面掛在輪邊緣的是供乘客乘搭的座艙（Gondola）。乘客坐在觀覽車慢慢的往上轉(zhuǎn)，可以從高處俯瞰四周景色。最常見到觀覽車存在的場合是游樂園（或主題公園）與園游會，作為一種游樂場機(jī)動游戲，與云霄飛車、旋轉(zhuǎn)木馬合稱是「樂園三寶」。但觀覽車也經(jīng)常單獨(dú)存在于其他的場合，通常被用來作為會活動的觀景臺使用。
